The Christophe Clement-trained Big Invasion will try to make his overseas trip to England a winning one when he leaves the starting gate in the 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes on Saturday at Ascot Racecourse outside London. A 4-year-old Kentucky-bred, Big Invasion has seven wins, two seconds and one third in 11 starts. He is coming off a runner-up finish in the Jaipur Stakes on June 10 at Belmont Park. For Saturday he is an 18-1 longshot in the 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes odds. Artorius is the 9-2 favorite in the 16-horse Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes field. Wellington and Highfield Princess, both 11-2, round out the top three in the odds.
Post time is 10:40 a.m. ET. With some of the world’s best horses set to enter the starting gate on Saturday, you’ll want to see what red-hot racing reporter and analyst Michelle Yu has to say before making any 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes picks.
Few people in racing are as well-connected as Yu. An on-air host and reporter who has provided racing analysis for TVG, HRTV and the Breeders’ Cup, Yu has spent a lifetime in racing. Prior to her television career, she worked for trainers Steve Asmussen and Ron Moquett. She also is married to Santa Anita-based trainer Ryan Hanson.
Yu also has tremendous handicapping chops. In a wide-open Kentucky Derby in 2021, she gave out Medina Spirit, who crossed the finish line first, as the winner at 12-1. In Pool 5 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager last year, she suggested a play on All Other 3-Year-Olds, which cashed at a whopping 18-1 when Rich Strike won the Derby.
Since the end of February, she has crushed the Saudi Cup, riding a 15-1 winner, nailed Derma Sotogake to win the UAE Derby and hit the exacta in the Santa Anita Derby. In the last month, she has hit the exacta in the Preakness Stakes and Hollywood Gold Cup and had both the winner and exacta in the Summertime Oaks and Wednesday’s Price of Wales’s Stakes.
For the 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, Yu has handicapped the field and identified her picks and fades. Head to SportsLine to see them.
Top 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes picksOne surprise: Yu is bullish on the chances of longshot Kinross. Listed at 8-1, Kinross emerged as one of the world’s top turf sprinters last year. Between August and October he reeled off four straight victories, including a win at six furlongs at Ascot, the same distance he faces on Saturday.
Though he returns from a six-month layoff on Saturday, Yu considers him as a major player. “If he returns with the same form, he’s a contender even at this shorter-than-preferred distance,” Yu told SportsLine. Yu is using Kinross prominently in her wagers. See who else to back at SportsLine.
How to make 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes picksYu’s top pick is a massive double-digit longshot who has a chance to “regain his form.” She is including this horse in her 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes bets. She’s sharing which horses to back only at SportsLine.
So what massive double-digit longshot is a must-back in the 2023 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, and how has Yu constructed her wagers? Visit SportsLine to see Yu’s picks for the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, and find out.
